2026

Half of your games or more were bullet. You think in seconds, move on instinct and play a whole game in the time others spend on one move.

What a Bullet Brain is

A Bullet Brain plays fast and plays often. Games last a minute or two, the clock matters as much as the board, and patterns come out of the hand before they reach words. The year of a Bullet Brain is full of short sessions, quick revenge games and streaks that start and end within an evening. It is a style of its own, built on pattern recognition, premoves and nerve.

How Chess Year spots it

Chess Year counts which time controls your games were played in. When bullet and ultrabullet together make up at least half of all your standard games in the year, Bullet Brain qualifies, and the bigger that share, the stronger it is. Out of 600 games, for example, 300 or more would need to be bullet. You also need at least 20 games in the year, otherwise every player is an All-Rounder.

What your story shows

The time-control card shows how your games split between bullet, blitz, rapid and the slower controls, and the hours card shows how little time a big number of games can take. The rating card follows the pool where you played the most rated games, which for a Bullet Brain is usually bullet. Your golden hour and busiest day tell you when the fast games happened.

Close relatives

A Bullet Brain who also wins many games on time can look like a Clock Assassin, and one who plays hundreds of games a month can qualify as a Grinder. Each personality has a score, and the strongest one wins, so the card names the trait that stands out most in your year. Next year, with more rapid games, the same player may well be something else.
